What he painted a few decades ago was marvelous, except for his 'passion' for portraying Hindu goddesses in absurd manner. In the name of freedom of expression, he could do so withoout caring for the sentiments of Hindus, whearas he could not dare to paint females of Islamic mythology. If the chapter on Hussain has been removed from the school books, it does not effect on students or Hussain. In stead of including chapter on Sobha Singh, a chapter on the glorious "Kangra miniature painting" should have been included. Kangra art indeed is a great art acclaimed wordwide by renowned art historians and critics as well. Hussain is a painter par excellent , but at the same time he is controversial too.
