Infect I follow Gandhian tradition of Journalism, where every Journalist is a responsible social worker first and newsmen latter. From the very begining, I am of the view that apart from keeping our readers well informed with the hapenings around us we must work for a reformative change in the society so that we can keep our country and countrymen atleast at par with the fast changing world. Reformative process has biggest role for journalists world wide and we must work for that, and this is the real service for society and this profession as a journalist, I strongly feel. Success of any reformative process depends on the will of those who implement the reforming porocess. It is irony that in our country most of the reforms lacks strong will of implement agency, which is non other than our government. There were a number of self motives and other reasons in the root of this problem. Our Jails had also been the victim of this system. It is high time for the countrymen to think and know that the money which is collected as taxes from them, how is being spent, for what and what were the desired results. As it always happening in our country, jails are turning into hotbed of crime and contagious diseases. Thanks to our correctional system that once after experiencing these jails for short time petty criminals tend to become hardened criminals rather than being corrected . More over reports tell us that more and more jail employees are turning to crime as their part time profession.It is high time for the Govt and ofcourse Judiciary also to wake up and fill up jail personnel vacancies and also impart them proper training for managing inmates.
