The Prashar lake near Sundernagar in district Mandi
The beautiful Prashar Lake is located high in the mountains, 40 Km north of Mandi. It is here that the sage Prashar is said to have meditated. On the lake’s edge is a three – steroid pagoda -like temple dedicated to the sage. Capped with a roof of slate tiles, the temple has a wealth of wood carving. An old temple, it is said to have been built by Raja Ban Sen of Mandi in the 14th century. An entire panorama of snowy mountain ranges is visible from this location.

I am from Hoshiarpur, Panjab. I have been to Himachal so many times. But I never heard of this place. I am residing in Canada right now. But I will visit the place of the great sage, from whom my family name came from. It is a great effort to put all this info together.
I just need some more info that who was the father of Rishi Prashar and who was his son and any other info you have regarding rishi Prashar.

The name of father of Rishi Prashar is Shkti and Shakti is son of Rishi Vashisht. Ved Vyas is son of Rishi Prashar and Sukhdev was son of Rishi Ved Vyas.
You will be surprised to know that at Pushkar near Ajmer in Rajasthan all the 3000 inhabitants are Prashars. There is also a temple of Rishi Prashar Ved Vyas and Sukhdev at one place at Pushkar. I have researched on the life of Rishi Prashar. Prashar is a vedic rishi, his name appears before the mantras in three vedas, Rig Ved Mandal 1, Richas 65 to 75 and at others. Yajur Ved and Sam V
15.7.2010ed also. Prasaran in south, prashars in and around Hoshiarpur, Ropar in HP in Mandi district, Amritsar Lal Pur vill, Bhathals etc there are prashars. Sidhus are their yjmans. Chief Justice of Pb.Haryana High Court Justice Mela Ram from Ropar and so many others.

I belong to Village Garli near Heritage village Pragpur .I have been to Prashar Lake ,its simply beautiful .Approach road is quite tedious and needs to be made user friendly . No body should be allowed to encroach upon the prestine envoirenment of the abode.

1 IS THAT..IF YOU SPREAD DIRT AROUND IT…NATURE WILL DO SOMETHING BAD WITH YOU…UNLESS YOU CLEAN IT ALL…CZ PARASHER RISHI GETS ANNOYED
