Vikram’s courage should be part of every textbook. Every child needs to understand the true patriot . I hope I could just do half good as what Vikram has done for the country .

“Ma Tujhe Salam” jisne is suput ko janam diya . A true legend Vikram will remain in the heart of very Indian.

I am very saddened for your loss. We will never be able to fill this gap in the Indian Army and rest of the Nation. I was watching LOC and it forced me to do some research on Vikram Batra and I got here. I saw the last footage of Vikram Batra on YouTube where he looked happy and charged up.

I don’t understand why these things happen, why do we do this…Would we ever be able to live happily and terror free!!

Capt Vikram Batra I salute you . A true soldier who laid down his life for the cause of the nation,may his soul rest in peace. I salute his parents who gave their son for the cause of the nation. There is no greater death than a martyr who laid down his life for our tomorrow.
Capt Vikram Batra lead the capture of point 5140 ,5100 juction4700 and laid down his life while capturing point 4875.
Point 4875 which now stands as Capt Vikram Batra Top.

I am from the other side of the line of control,yes, Pakistan and while netbrowsing came across the valour and courage of Capt. Vikram Batra. I am moved, very impressed and wish he were still alive, smiling and living out his dreams in this world. It greatly saddens me to see the death of young men in such wars, not of their own creation.
Whatever people might say to justify martyrdom, the loss of these brave men on both sides is felt most by their wives, their children who have to spend long years with a void in their lives.
Nations might rejoice in their sacrifice but for the family they will never come home at the end of the day.
Love for all, hatred for none.

I was a young mother during the Kargil war, mostly housebound and alone and addicted to TV. I remember opening it one day and seeing this bearded grinning face saying that immortal line “Dil mange more”! Capt. Vikram Batra became like a family member…I would say a prayer for him and our soldiers and I was convinced he would return safely. Something about him was so dynamic! Then my brother called up to say that he had become a “shaheed” and there were two of us sobbing on the phone, greiving for someone we had never met, never seen! It has been 8 years since and on Vijay Diwas,I and my son say our prayers and thank these soldiers who defended us so magnificently. We read articles and discuss our heroes and we will never forget!
To us, courage has a face and it is that sunburnt, laughing one!
We all need heroes in our lives…..I have faith in our future as long as we have such men! And whenever I feel that my son, Sangram, needs some inspiration, I tell him how our Indian Army braved such odds and how valiently they fought and defined bravery anew.
These lion-hearted men can never die for they live in our hearts and continue to inspire us from beyound the grave!

Thanks to the valiant Indian troops (inc their allied Nepali contingent) many of whom payed the ultimate sacrifice, India defeated Pakistan and its terrorists as always. The least I can do is never forget this and always keep this in mind. These are the real heroes – God bless them forever.

Vikram Batra was without doubt one of the greatest people that has ever graced this planet.

I feel like nothing and could not even compare any part of me to him – he is the best. Reason to be proud of Indian heritage all on his own – he is one of the greatest of victorious warriors. However, the fact that such a good man laid down his life is a lesson that no war can be worth it. India were victorious thanks to him, and now we know how great man can be thanks to him. But I wish he didn’t have to prove it and was still alive today. I guess I should be grateful that such a hero did live – along with many other valiant Indian and Nepali (as the Gurkhas are) troops..
